D.C.’s snow emergency starts at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
For you car owners, that means you’ve got to move your car out of any snow routes—unless you’ve got some money to burn.
Here’s what the Department of Transportation says will happen if you neglect to get your vehicle out of the way:

DPW will no longer relocate the vehicle in the local neighborhood. The resident will incur a $250 fine for parking on a snow emergency route during a declared snow emergency, a $100 towing fee and a $25 impound fee (this fee will double after 48 hours and then increase by $25 every 24 hours thereafter).
“Don’t even park on evacuation routes tonight,” Mayor Muriel Bowser recommended at a press conference today.
Here are all the places you shouldn’t park your car:
Public transportation outlets like Metro are working to prepare for the storm as well.
