The first of two baby eagles has hatched at the National Arboretum. The eaglet was born at 8:27 a.m. today, according to Eagles.org, and it’ll be named DC2.

Since the American Eagle Foundation and the National Arboretum launched the D.C. Eagle Cam, tens of thousands of folks have been glued to their computer screens. The site is live-streaming two videos of bald eagles “Mr. President” and “The First Lady” as they await their fuzzy offspring.

“The First Lady” laid one egg on Feb. 10, and then a second one four days later. The hatching process for the first baby Eagle began Wednesday, and Cecere expects the second eaglet to start its course on Sunday.
