A stabbing at Deanwood Metro this morning has become a homicide investigation after the victim died of his injuries, the Metro Police Department says.
The victim is a male, who was stabbed in the neck at the station. He was unconscious when he was transported to a local hospital, according to Aquita Brown, spokesperson for the MPD. The call to MPD came in at around 10:59 a.m. He died of his injuries at the hospital.
According to the Washington Post:
…preliminary information shows that the victim was exiting the station when another person in his late teens or early 20s followed him. The fatal altercation occurred near the fare gates just outside the station’s entrance. Police said they do not know whether the two had been arguing.
Police described the suspected attacker as a black male with a twist in his hair and wearing a black puffy jacket, black jeans and black shoes.
Trains were bypassing the Deanwood Metro station for much of the day, but the station has reopened.
A 15 year old, Davonte Washington, was shot and killed at the Deanwood Metro station two weeks ago.
The D.C. Guardian Angels announced they will start patrolling Deanwood Metro at 6 p.m. today.
