Montgomery County’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a transgender woman at a Rockville hotel a homicide.
Investigators believe the 22-year-old woman, who went by Keyonna, was assaulted and killed in her room at the Red Roof Inn in the early morning hours on Saturday. First responders were called to the scene at 11:30 a.m., where they found trauma to her upper body.
Police said they have information that she was possibly engaging in prostitution at the time. The investigation remains ongoing.
