With Mayor Muriel Bowser, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Councilmembers Jack Evans and Anita Bonds at her side, and a cold chai in hand, presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton paid a visit to Uprising Muffins in Shaw this afternoon.

Ahead of the very last primary in the nation, Clinton is already all but assured to win the Democratic nomination. Still, Bernie Sanders has pledged to fight on in D.C., stopping by for a rally last night that treated D.C. like a state by giving the same stump speech as everywhere else.
Last month, Hillary Clinton pledged to be a “vocal champion for D.C. statehood” in an opinion piece in the Washington Informer.
Meanwhile, Jack “Mayor of Metro” Evans got in a plug for funding the beleaguered system.

And when asked about her vice presidential pick—particularly in the context of Elizabeth Warren’s endorsement—Clinton deflected with a coffee recommendation.
