You like your artisanal foods with a side of cinematic nostalgia? Then you’ll be pleased to learn that Union Market’s drive-in movie series kicks off again next week.
The popular screenings, which began in 2012, come back on Friday July 1 with a screening of everyone’s favorite volleyball scene (and the movie surrounding it)—Top Gun.
From then on, every first Friday through October will feature a family-friendly movie projected onto the building. It’s free for walk-ups willing to sit in the picnic area, and $10 per vehicle. The DC Rollergirls will be skating your snacks to you, as they have in years past.
Here’s the full schedule:
- Friday, July 1: Top Gun
- Friday, August 5: Ratatouille
- Friday, September 2: Grease
- Friday, October 7: Ghostbusters
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. The film starts at 8:00 p.m or sunset. Union Market is located at 1305 5th Street NE.
And if you’re hankering for an outdoor film on a non-first Friday, check out our full guide to this summer’s offerings.
