We already knew Michelle Obama could dance, but the first lady showed on The Late Late Show that she’s building a girl power squad to rival Taylor Swift’s and it includes Missy Elliott.

Obama joined host James Corden on his popular Carpool Karaoke segment, and they cruised around the White House grounds. They started off jamming out to some Stevie Wonder. (Her husband, President Barack Obama, said earlier this month that “I’m so glad I met Michelle first, because she loves Stevie Wonder.”)

Corden pressed about whether she’d miss the “24-hour room service,” and the ability to call for a grilled cheese at 3 a.m. when her family moves out of the White House in January.

“You know what, that’s nice,” she replied. “But the freedom that we’ll get in exchange for the privileges and the luxuries … Seven-and-a-half years, that’s enough luxuriating. I can make my own grilled cheese sandwich. I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich.”

Then, she nailed Beyonce’s Single Ladies dance, replete with the hand twirl and shoulder shake. Her and Corden relished being part of the Beyhive, and we got a reminder that even though Obama is a cool mom, she’s still a mom with corny jokes. “We were making honey there in the hive. We were making honey to put in our lemonade!” she said.

But lest you think she’s a partisan in the breakup of Destiny’s Child, the two also got some Kelly Rowland in. Rowland is one of the featured singers on “This Is For My Girls,” a song that promotes Obama’s Let Girls Learn initiative.

That’s when Missy Elliott, who has a verse on “This Is For My Girls,” popped up in the back seat, as if by magic. “We’ve got our squad, our girl power squad,” Obama said. Watch out, Taylor Swift. “We’re talking about education.”

And here’s a lesson: when Missy comes around, it’s blasphemy not to spit some “Get Ur Freak On.”

Next week: Melania Trump will join James Corden on Carpool Karaoke to sing her favorite songs by Stevie Wonder and Beyonce, and plug her initiative Let Girls Learn.
