After putting out a call to hire more than three thousand employees earlier this year, the D.C. region’s first luxury casino resort is set to open in two months.

MGM National Harbor, a $1.4 billion project, opens on December 8. “Guests will enjoy a sophisticated hotel experience, high-energy casino, celebrity-chef restaurants, world-class entertainment, nightlife, destination spa, upscale retail and curated art, complemented by incredible panoramas of D.C., Maryland and Virginia,” Bill Boasberg, the resort’s general manager, said in a release.

People can now book rooms, which range from $399 to $599 per night, for stays beginning December 10.

The resort sits in Prince George’s County, separated from the District by the Potomac River. One of its largest amenities is the 125,000-square-foot casino.

Culinary highlights include offerings from celebrity chefs such as José Andrés, Marcus Samuelsson, and Bryan and Michael Voltaggio. In addition, Bellagio Pâtisserie, a European-inspired pastry shop, will feature one of the world’s largest chocolate fountains, which will hold two tons of melted chocolate.

While brands have yet to be announced, the space will also feature 18,000 square feet of space for luxury retailers.

MGM sealed the deal to operate Maryland’s sixth casino, in the form of an 18-story, 300-suite hotel, back in 2013, and construction began the following fall. This time-lapse video shows the entire construction process in less than 30 seconds.
