The District broke another record for warmth today, and this one is 117 years old. But while we soak up the unseasonable temperatures this afternoon, we should prepare for a brisk awakening tomorrow morning.
The National Weather Service recorded a 72 degree temperature at Reagan National Airport around 1 p.m. That surpasses the 68 degree high for today’s date, which was recorded in 1900.
But then, the NWS predicts that rain will fall and mix with snow after 4 a.m., though there will be little to no snow accumulation.
Rain and snow showers will persist until 10 a.m. tomorrow, according to the NWS, and snow will pick back up after 1 p.m. and wind gusts will be as high as 40 miles per hour. But, again, snowfall accumulation will be minimal.
