Update: The streetcar resumed service shortly after 2 p.m. but the eastbound side of the stop at 3rd and H Streets NE will remain closed for an “extended time.” The closest alternatives are at Union Station and 5th Street NE.

After a MegaBus met a D.C. streetcar platform in dramatic fashion this afternoon, service is suspended on the streetcar line.

No one was injured in the crash, which appears to have completely obliterated the stop at 3rd and H Streets NE around 12:45 p.m. Officials have said that the streetcar wasn’t involved.

The eastbound direction of the 300 block of H Street NE is closed to all traffic as the investigation continues.

The incident occurred right in front of a construction site where a partial trench collapse injured four workers on Monday, so maybe tread carefully on that block.
