The fat cat that stole all of our hearts earlier this summer is now less fat.

Vito, formerly known as Symba, has already lost almost 12 percent of his body weight since his adoption, per the Facebook page that keeps us Vito-heads in the know. When he was weighed at the veterinarian last week, he clocked in at 30.9 pounds, 4.1 pounds fewer than when we all first became acquainted with the rotund feline.

In June, when the Humane Rescue Alliance put him up for adoption, they tweeted that their staff has seen a lot, “but we’ve never seen a 35 pound cat!” This is what he looked like:

It didn’t take 24 hours until Kiah Berkeley and her family adopted and brought him home. Vito struggled with his obesity, which made it tough for him to move, or clean or scratch himself. He quickly began to adjust to his new digs, though, Berkeley said in July.

Lest you forget, he had a starring in Berkeley and partner Peter Sorkin’s wedding portraits.
