Jerry Seinfeld and hometown hero Dave Chappelle were spotted in D.C. on Tuesday, keeping things upbeat despite a glitch in their plans.

The comedians were filming an episode of Seinfeld’s series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” inside of The Diner in Adams Morgan.

Among other guests on the show, Seinfeld took former President Barack Obama for a ride in 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe in 2015.

This time in D.C., Seinfeld ran into some car trouble while ferrying Chappelle in a classic Citroen coupe. After filming at The Diner, Seinfeld couldn’t start the car. Two crew members pushed it up 18th street and eventually had to give the car a jump, according to WTOP.

Outside of Chappelle’s alma mater Duke Ellington School of the Arts, crews also had to break out the jumper cables, reported NBC Washington’s Kristin Wright. But the comedians kept their cool “looking unphased joking outside of the school,” Wright said.

Chappelle, who gave a shout out to D.C. Public Schools at the Emmy’s last week, is booked for stand-up shows at the Warner Theatre through the 30th of the month.

He was also spotted at Eighteenth Street Lounge last Tuesday night for a celebration of his thirtieth year in comedy, and did an impromptu performance with Ed Sheeran. Chappelle and Washington jazz harmonicist Frederic Yonnet also hosted a VIP afterparty in Georgetown over the weekend.

The comedian will be back at Duke Ellington on Friday to speak with students in the school’s theater program, according to Wright.
