Secret Service officials said that a person is in custody after jumping over a barrier near the White House on Tuesday morning.

Officials also investigated a suspicious package and blocked off the area near the presidential mansion’s south fence.

The person jumped over a concrete barrier on E Street NW, according to Secret Service officials. D.C. police investigated the package.

About an hour after shutting down the area, Secret Service officials said the package had been cleared and pedestrian traffic along the south fence had resumed.
