Metro service is frankly kind of confusing this weekend, but here’s what you need to know: On Saturday, the Orange, Silver, Blue, and Yellow lines are running every 26 minutes to allow for installation of communications cables and/or grout pad renewal. The Red Line is running every nine to 18 minutes on Saturday to accommodate lighting and fastener renewal.

On Sunday, the system will open at 7 a.m. for the Army Ten-Miler. Trains will operate on run regular Sunday service until 10 p.m., when they’ll run revert back to the Saturday schedule listed above. To accommodate what Metro expects will be many participants and spectators, the agency also says it’s running additional Blue Line trains before and after Sunday’s race.

Trains every 9-18 minutes all day Saturday and after 10 p.m. Sunday
Regular Sunday service 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

On Saturday, October 6:
Red Line trains will operate every 18 minutes between Shady Grove & Glenmont with additional trains between Farragut North and Silver Spring during daytime hours. Single tracking between Friendship Heights and Van Ness to allow for track lighting, rail, tie and fastener renewal.

On Sunday, October 7:
Trains will operate at regular Sunday service levels from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. No single tracking.

Trains will operate every 18 minutes after 10 p.m. with single tracking between Friendship Heights and Van Ness to allow for track lighting, rail, tie and fastener renewal.

Orange Line

Trains every 26 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturday & Sunday
Regular weekend service 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday & Sunday

On Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 p.m. until close:
Single tracking between Clarendon and East Falls Church to allow for installation of cable/communication equipment to support cellular service in tunnels and new radio system.

Silver Line

Trains every 26 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturday & Sunday
Regular weekend service 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday & Sunday

On Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 p.m. until close:

Blue Line

Yellow Line

Trains every 26 minutes all day Saturday and after 10 p.m. Sunday to/from Mt. Vernon Sq. only
Regular Sunday service 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. between Huntington & Fort Totten

On Saturday, October 6:
Trains will operate every 26 minutes with single tracking between Pentagon City and National Airport to allow for grout pad and fastener renewal.

On Sunday, October 7:
Trains will operate at regular Sunday service levels from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. No single tracking.
Trains will operate every 26 minutes after 10 p.m. with single tracking between Pentagon City and National Airport to allow for grout pad and fastener renewal.

Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq. must use the Green Line to continue their trip.

Green Line

Regular weekend service
