It's been a delicious year in D.C. The city has seen a number of interesting new restaurants and eatieries, including spots like CommonWealth, Art and Soul, Cork Wine Bar, Adour, and Ray's Hell-Burger. The DCist food staff got together to look back on their favorite dishes, desserts, and drinks of 2008.

Much as we did last year, we're devoting the last column of the year to a look back rather than a look forward. As recently as a few months ago, it seemed 2008 was going to end up an uneven year at the movies, at least lacking the sort of instant classics and works of mad genius that made 2007 such a thrill. But in the end, we had a lot of trouble assembling this list -- not out of a lack of great material, but more because there were so many titles which we were reluctant to not recognize.
It's arrived, ladies and germs -- time to review the year in eavesdropping. There were so many verbal faux pas this year; alas, we only have time to feature some of our favorite who were part of the exclusive "Overheard of the Week" club. (Of course, you're always welcome to dig deeper into our vast archives anytime you'd like.) So, no further hesitation: here's the best of Overheard in D.C. from the last twelve months.
