Based on current tuition rates, completing a four-year undergraduate degree at Georgetown University costs students and their parents slightly more than $160,000. Given such revenue, one would assume that the school might be able to employ someone to make sure "University" is spelled correctly on the cover of its commencement program.

Street Closures for Howard University Commencement
As we told you on Monday in our first installment of the Commencement Speaker Scouting Report, Howard University will be leading off this season's college graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 9. Howard University Police Chief Leroy K. James announced the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic for several days in preparation for commencement activities. Most of these closures are on the Howard campus, but LeDroit Park and Shaw residents will want to make a note of them.

It's time once again for our annual Commencement Speaker Scouting Reports, now with 80 percent more post-college recession-related job market panic than last year!
Make It Work, Corc Grads
The Corcoran College of Art + Design will grant an honorary doctoral degree to celebrated fashion designer, Bravo icon, and favorite District son Tim Gunn. It won't be the first Corcoran degree for Gunn, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in sculpture in 1976. But it is the highest degree that the Corcoran can give.
