Atlanta-based singer Donnie first made himself known around 2001 with the release of two tracks, “Do You Know?” and “Our New National Anthem.” The former song sounded very reminiscent of “Flying Easy,” which was performed by one of Donnie’s influences, Donny Hathaway. In the wake of the tragedy at Virginia Tech earlier this year, it's been reported all over the world today that two 17-year-old students were shot in an incident at Delaware State University last night. Both students, a male and a female whose names have not been released, were originally from the Washington, D.C. area. Last week's Red Line train crash at Woodley Park is sending transit shockwaves all the way to New York. Gothamist reports that a Metropolitan Transportation Authority union is using the metrorail crash in D.C. as a talking point against the MTA converting the L train/14th St.-Canarsie Line to full computerized automation.
