Just When You Thought It Was Safe To Walk Around Judiciary Square

Just When You Thought It Was Safe To Walk Around Judiciary Square

Another election is on the horizon, and there's nothing you can do about it. (I know, we're still recovering from the last one, too.) Early voting for November's general election begins today at One Judiciary Square -- meaning Vince Gray partisans don't even have to wait until the man finishes his town hall tour to register their vote. We're hearing reports that a smattering of Fenty write-in supporters are making their presence known at the voting center this morning, but it's hardly sounds like anything on the scale of the first day of early voting in September's primary, when Fenty and Gray supporters were dueling with megaphones and the such. more ›

Thinking About Voting Early Today?

Be sure to bring a book. Based on the Board of Elections and Ethics' website, the wait to vote as of 12:35 p.m. this afternoon was 90 to 100 minutes. If you're dead set on going today, polls are open until 7 p.m. at 441 4th Street NW. Four additional early voting locations open on September 4. According to TBD's Kevin Robillard, the Board expects a quarter of D.C. voters to use the early voting option for this year's primary. more ›

Nats Update: Who's Your All Star?

Nats Update: Who's Your All Star?

Ponder this one for a minute: Now that official online voting is open, if you had to select the Nats representative for the ’07 All Star game based on the team's first 52 games, who would it be? No National appears in the top five at any position in the early voting results, which is indicative of both the nature of the voting as a popularity contest and of the Nats' subpar 21-31 record.... more ›

Early Voting Begins in D.C. and Beyond

"You're missing the biggest story of the day," a vigilant reader writes us. "I just waited half an hour to early vote at the DC Board of Elections. I also voted electronically-smooth, easy and idiot proof." In D.C., voters may cast an absentee ballot in person up to 14 days before the election: You may cast an absentee ballot, in person, in our office (441 4th St., NW #250) beginning 14 days before the election.... more ›
