What is it about fox attacks that seem almost funny, when they should be downright scary? Is it because foxes are smaller and cuter than say, mountain lions or bears? We can't help but notice that we've noted a number of rabid fox attacks in the region over the last few years. There was the one in Herndon in 2004, the one just last month in Arlington, and now NBC4 reports that another rabid fox has been captured in Gaithersburg.

Metro has taken its share of heat this year for the way it's handled crime on its trains and in stations, so it's not surprising that the agency sent out a triumphant press release this morning announcing the arrests of five people in connection with a robbery and assault on Dec. 9 that may have been fueled by homophobia. more ›

Tian Tian underwent eye surgery yesterday to remove inflamed tissue from one of his third eyelids. He's expected to make a full recovery, but in the meantime he'll have to live with the shame of being the one to expose this whole pandas having third eyelids monstrosity.
