Über-Chef Thomas Keller will be at Williams-Sonoma in the Mazza Gallerie tomorrow signing copies of his cookbook, Ad Hoc at Home. The event, which begins at 5 p.m., unfortunately penalizes those who may have purchased their cookbook long ago -- Keller will only be signing books purchased at Williams-Sonoma. While it may be sound business practice, it's a shame that this punishes those who were early adopters of the book. more ›

Eating In: Dr. Granville Moore's Brickyard

Dr. Granville Moore’s Brickyard officially opened its doors this weekend, and with much avail. Located at 1238 H Street NE, this Belgian influenced pub has a great deal to offer, which was obvious with the number of people who showed up for the “soft opening.” Chris Surrusco, formerly of Rustico’s in Alexandria, is a proprietor and the beer connoisseur. He had estimated about 50 or so covers each night and was pleasantly surprised to see those numbers more than doubled. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t head up that way until the end of the weekend and were unable to get a few items from the menu. Dine Out for Eastern Market on Monday The outpouring of support for Eastern Market continues. On Monday, May 21, several restaurants on Capitol Hill will participate in Dining Out for Eastern Market, a "Dining Out for Life" style charity event where the restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Capitol Hill Community Foundation's Eastern Market fund, which has raised $238,000 so far to assist the South Hall merchants while a temporary market... more ›
