If you look at a Capital Bikeshare station map, you'll quickly notice that there are no stations in Maryland. None. That could soon change, expanding the scope of the popular bike-sharing program beyond the District and Arlington County.

At a presentation this morning, Mayor Vince Gray and Councilmember Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) awarded grants to four H Street NE businesses they hope will expand daytime retail along the bustling nightlife strip.
Awesome Foundation Launches D.C. Chapter
The Awesome Foundation, an organization dedicated to "forwarding the interest of Awesome in the universe" though monthly $1,000 grants, officially launched its D.C. chapter earlier this week. The Foundation, which currently boasts chapters in nine other cities and a generic "food" branch, is already accepting applications for its first D.C. grant.
Barry Misused Council Funds, Took Kickbacks, Report Finds

Council member Marion Barry. Bennett, alongside his associate, Amy Sabrin, today laid out in great detail how they found Barry had repeatedly violated ethics laws when he funneled city money to his personal friends and associates, including his former girlfriend, Donna Watts-Brighthaupt.
DCCAH 2010 Art Grant Season Opens
Last week, the D.C. Commission on Arts and Humanities opened its call for applications for its 2010 grant season. Each year the well-funded DCCAH has hundreds of thousands of dollars to give away to the artistically-minded, and the crazy part is that they can't seem to find enough people to give it all away to every year. Free money, guys! You just have to ask!
