But one aspect of the budget amendments had us more curious than the rest -- what initially appeared to be a permanent property tax abatement for the International House of Pancakes franchise, located at 1523 Alabama Avenue SE. But as it turns out, that isn't the case.

We've witnessed a lot of debate and handwringing in the past about the relative classiness of businesses going in to DCUSA, but surely everyone can agree on Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity.
