It's been quite some time since we checked in with DCist's favorite Sam Kinison-influenced weatherman, AccuWeather.com's Jim Kosek. We first took notice of Jim back in spring of 2007, and checked back in with the manic, screaming funnyman/forecaster from time to time over the course of that year. But apparently we dropped the ball on keeping tabs on Kosek, because an AccuWeather insider emailed us this afternoon with a link to this video and word that Kosek's schedule was recently shuffled to take him off the Washington, D.C. forecast. AccuWeather says "emails have been pouring in" to get Jim back on the District beat (we'll take their word for it), and now Jim is apparently trying to push viewer outrage past the tipping point. If you miss Jim Kosek's thoughtful, diminutive reading of the weather, check out the video for what to do.
Do You Miss Accuweather's Jim Kosek?
Wet Weather-o-rama
It's been a long time since the region had any inclement weather to speak of, and even longer since we've checked in with our favorite maniac online weather man, Jim Kosek of Accuweather.com. As always, Jim is here for us in the midst of the storm with reassuring technical terms like "gajillion" and plenty of needless shouting. Enjoy!
Jim Kosek Knows How to Act at Parties
Are you sick of Accuweather.com's Jim Kosek yet? Apparently, we're not. And we're really, truly sorry about that.
Is Our Favorite Weatherman Depressed by the Heat?
Weather Forecast | Weather Maps | Weather Radar All right, so we promise to shut up about the heat after this, but our favorite weatherman in the whole world seems a little down in the dumps this morning, D.C. He's just not his usual screaming, over the top self, perhaps suffering from some kind of humidity-related depression. Judge for yourself -- does Accuweather.com's Jim Kosek need our help?...
We Can't Stay Away from Jim Kosek
We promise, we'll get bored of posting these hilariously frightening local weather forecasts from Accuweather.com's Jim Kosek some day soon. But that day is not today. Enjoy the weekend weather, D.C.
Crazy Weatherman Returns, More Subdued
So we've all been patiently waiting for the return of Accuweather.com's Jim Kosek ever since we posted a forecast he did for the Washington area where it appeared he had lost his mind. Sadly, the code for Accuweather's video forecasts feeds into the current day's forecast no matter what, so once again, Jim will be gone from this post in the morning. If you saw the last forecast from Jim, you'll notice that this time, he seems to be much more in control of his mental faculties, but is still a little bit nutty, especially toward the end. Are we going to post a video every time Jim Kosek gives the forecast for D.C.? Maybe so, maybe so.
