Today, a coalition of over 100 ethnic and minority groups released the latest designs for the planned National Museum of the American People, which will "will tell the story of all of the people who became Americans, from the prehistoric period through today." The design of the museum, which organizers hope to erect at the end of L'Enfant Promenade, focuses on views of the Maine Avenue waterfront and the Washington Channel. more ›

NBC Washington has obtained, via a FOIA request, video surveillance of a L'Enfant Plaza escalator collapsing during the Rally to Restore Sanity weekend. The video shows the brakes failing and riders flying off the escalator, some getting stepped on and falling on top of each other. Several injured during the incident had to go to the hospital. Blue/Orange Line Delays Downtown

WMATA is reporting an earlier "situation" that has been resolved at L'Enfant Plaza that's causing delays in both directions on the Orange and Blue lines. Word is that trains are sharing the same track between Federal Triangle and Federal Center SW stations due to some sort of mechanical problem. Heads up for your commute home. more ›
