We Just Don't Get Eugene Delgaudio, Says Eugene Delgaudio
It was about one week ago when we read with jaws agape as Eugene Delgaudio -- Loudoun County Board of Supervisors representative and proponent of the idea that TSA pat downs are part of a radical "homosexual agenda" involving many a "practicing homosexual secretly getting pleasure from your submission" -- wrote but the latest chapter in a long personal history of verbal attacks on homosexuals and homosexuality. But according to Delgaudio, it's the rest of us who have the problem, not him.
We Hereby Welcome These Universities To The Year 2010
George Washington University is planning on allowing men and women to live in the same residence hall rooms all over its campus next fall -- just like how anyone living nearly everywhere else in the world is able to do! The university's decision is part of a national trend, ridding the somewhat-insane policy of forcibly separating genders in student housing; Georgetown is also considering scrapping gender-separate dorms. (A mild thumbs up to American, who already has a few gender-neutral accommodations on campus.) In addition to perpetuating the antiquated idea that college kids will somehow maintain their chastity by living in separate quarters, the new policy, as Amanda Hess notes, is great news for LGBT students who might feel more comfortable not being forced to live in a room with someone of the same gender. Just remember, kids: bedbugs don't care what gender you are.
Loudoun Co. Official: TSA Pat Downs Are Part Of "Homosexual Agenda"
Loudoun County Board of Supervisors representative Eugene Delgaudio is angry about the TSA pat downs that were all the rage in the media during the busy Thanksgiving travel season. But it's not because he finds the pat-downs unconstitutional, or generally objects to America going too far in its dogged attempts to prevent terrorism. Nah, Delgaudio doesn't like the new TSA security procedures because he claims they are part of a wide-scale "homosexual agenda."
