The L.A. Times reports on the arrest here in D.C. of Mark Hardy, an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Kings. Hardy was taken into custody at about 2 a.m. on Friday at the Mayflower Hotel (quickly becoming the go-to local spot for sex scandals), after a woman accused him of fondling her when she was passed out drunk in a hotel room. The Associated Press account of the arrest merely mentions that the complainant was a woman who knows Hardy, but the Times provides the extra ick factor -- she is reportedly a relative of the former hockey defenseman. This weekend the Capitals decided not to add a great goalie to pull them up from the dregs of the standings. After losing seven of eight games, the Caps were in last place.
