Immigration News: The Post reports that yesterday thousands gathered outside the Capitol building to protest legislation that could potentially authorize prosecution of social service workers, doctors, and others who assist illegal immigrants. A protest spokesperson estimated that 20,000 people showed up to the rally. The original House bill was sponsored by Representatives from Wisconsin and New York, but issues surrounding immigration are locally pertinent. The Washington Wizards ended their longest losing streak of the season last night beating the Milwauke Bucks 119-112 at the MCI Center. The Wiz were powered by Antawn Jamison's 32 points and a season high 13 assists from Gilbert Arenas, who scored only 8 points on 2 of 9 shooting. Perhaps this was a wake up call for Arenas. It seemed that those photos of the elevated ice skating rink on the first level of the Eiffel Tower in Paris were all over the place a few days ago. (How cool would it be to ice skate on the roof terrace of the Hotel Washington, or some rooftop venue with a great view of the city's monuments.)
