Love. Sweet love. It is a challenge to gaze upon this photo and not think of Kate & Leo on that boat, and hear the sweet, sweet sounds of Celine Dion singing "My Heart Will Go On." Seriously, if pit bulls in drag making out with humans don't inspire the sounds Quebec's greatest export in your heart, nothing will.

Hopefully this puppy safely comes back to earth with out dragging the girl with him. Thanks to Matt.Dunn for this action shot.

There has been a serious dearth of aquatic performance art photos in the Flickr pool of late. M.V. Jantzen takes care of that for us.

Photographer Steve Goldenberg captured this brightly colored image on H St. The square frame mimicking the pattern of the colored squares is well, not at all square, it is groovy.

Often a photo is made remarkable by the unusual angle from which it is taken. whutchins1's shot is a perfect example. The fisheye lens doesn't hurt either.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!" That's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this picture from Matt.Dunn of a bearded man in the shadows of Metro.

Is that Mei Xiang at the Argonaut? Thanks to philliefan99, we have a better understanding of the deeper challenges facing the Zoo's giant panda breeding program. (EXIF.)

Shutterbugs rejoice! Not for pie, but for the highly anticipated Leica store, now open in Penn Quarter. Christopher Chen uses this occasion to post one of his favorite things made with another: sour cherry, as seen through his Leitz 75/1.4 Summilux-M (c.1982) lens and a Leica M9. Only one of these can be ordered a la mode. (EXIF)

It is hard to believe that photographer *Can'tBuyMeLove* stumbled upon this scene, but according the description of the photo that is exactly what happened. We are thankful he was there, and submitted this image to our flickr pool, because this could be the Holy Grail of dog photos. The scene is so idyllic, that it almost seems unreal, like a fake backdrop in a Glamour Shots portrait studio. But thankfully it is the real thing, and we have it for our viewing pleasure.

Does this Southwest hot dog stand peddle food, or some horrific mutation of Mick Jagger as envisioned by early David Cronenberg? Thanks to jennyboh for seeing something and saying something.

Flickr pool contributor Satirenoir says this classic Chevy is "cooler than your car", and she's right. There's something about the lines of classic cars that we in today's vehicles.

Move over cute puppehs and kittehs. It's time to expose the grittier side of the animal kingdom, courtesy of gerdaindc. (EXIF.)

Photographer F1.2 found an interesting angle and perspective on one of our favorite subjects, animals. The lines of the shadows add great compositional interest the photograph, while the juxtaposition of the large dog napping while the little dog keeps guard is quite funny.

The annual Kite Festival is always a great time for people watching and for practicing your sword play. pablo.raw catches this modern samurai, handily defeating her foes.

What appears here to be an average size tree is actually a small dead flower. The way that OtherThink chose to frame the image this very clever, and quite successful at tricking the eye.

Is ventriloquism a dying art? Not on H Street NE, where Christopher Chen made this picture using a classic rangefinder and black and white film.

We don't often feature pictures of the monuments in this space, but gringo_loco87 shot of the Lincoln Monument is different and dramatic enough to show off.
