UPDATE (3 p.m.): Huffington Post reports that Adam Eidinger, who owns Capitol Hemp, has claimed that a political motive exists for the raids.
D.C. Police Raided the Wrong House
D.C. police obtained a warrant to search a house in the Capitol Hill neighborhood last May. They brought a battering ram with them, and started trying to break through the iron bars in the rear of the house. The only problem? The family of the suspect they were investigating hadn't lived there for about 18 months. The current owners of the home, Allyson and David Kitchel, told WJLA/ABC7 all about it.
Kitchel explained just days before the raid, a 19-year-old man was arrested on gun charges.more ›
Big Marijuana Raid in Brightwood
The Washington Post is reporting that approximately 85 pounds of marijuana and nearly $40,000 in cash have been seized from D.C. resident Winston Williams, 49. Williams was arrested on Aug. 5 after D.C. police discovered about 10 pounds of pot and the cash inside his home in 5500 block of 14th Street NW. A couple days later, they found 75 more pounds of the green stuff in storage units prosecutors say belong to Williams, in the 6400 block of 16th Street.

FBI Raid, Lockdown at OCTO, One Judiciary Square
FBI agents are searching the One Judiciary Square offices of the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer this morning. The FBI is being tight lipped about what they are searching for, telling Politico only that the search is part of "an ongoing investigation." WTOP's Mark Segraves has been Twittering from the scene, adding that agents have since moved from the 9th floor OCTO offices to the 10th floor of One Judiciary Square, which houses the Office of the Attorney General. Some employees in the building have been sent home, according to Segraves.
