Moby may be the world's best-known mild-mannered electronica star, but his friendly disposition and strict vegan diet couldn't possibly save him from what some Capitol Hill residents wanted to inflict upon him after a weekend concert at RFK.

Yes, Baltimore's Very Serious About Stealing D.C.'s Soccer Team
Last week, the big soccer question around town was whether Byrd Stadium in College Park would make for a suitable temporary home for D.C. United. Suffice it to say, that conversation has picked up a lot more steam in the last few days.
Could D.C. United Temporarily Relocate to College Park?
After wrapping up yet another postseason-less campaign, the chatter surrounding D.C. United returns to an all-too-familiar topic: whether or not the team will actually remain in Washington for the long-term.
Click Click: United Fans, Appreciated
While there certainly were signs of disappointment from Black-and-Red supporters who won't see MLS Cup matches for the fourth straight season, most of the 15,965 in attendance at RFK Stadium on Saturday proved their allegiance to United through thick and thin.
United's Playoff Hopes Dashed By Timbers
In fairness, the frantic final minutes of the last meaningful match D.C. United will play in 2011 was a microcosm of the season as a whole: promising and full of chances, but inevitably disappointing.
Amazing Chicago Comeback Dents United's Playoff Hopes
Maybe it's just destiny. Maybe this D.C. United squad just isn't meant to be playing into the postseason. While I hate to be pessimistic about the squad's chances to break a years-long playoff drought this year, it's hard not to think such things after what happened in the waning moments of Saturday night's match.
By The Numbers: RFK Stadium
Despite having fallen on hard times of late, there probably aren't many people in the Washington region who lack at least one memory -- good or bad -- about Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium
DeRo Breaks Records, United Drubs Real Salt Lake
Is there any stopping Dwayne De Rosario? Not if you're Real Salt Lake.
United Blows Lead, Olsen Blows Up
Ben Olsen, never one to mince words, was obviously not pleased with his team's performance last night -- a 2-2 home draw against Chivas USA which, it has to be said, was well within United's grasp.
D.C. United Postpones Match Due To Hurricane Concerns
Following the lead of other MLS clubs in New York and Philadelphia, D.C. United announced this morning that this Saturday's match against Portland would be postponed until a later date.
United Finally Break Out at RFK, Clobber Vancouver 4-0
D.C. United, led by Chris Pontius, Dwayne DeRosario and debutant goalkeeper Joe Willis, put on a solid display in defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 4-0 on Saturday.
Those Are Some Sweet Freedom Ledges, Bro
I briefly mentioned the news in this morning's roundup, but the always-industrious Lydia DePillis put her nose to the grindstone and found a rendering of the skate park which will be erected on a parcel of the RFK Stadium concrete desert Festival Grounds.
D.C. United Draws Toronto FC in Wild Six-Goal Thriller
Has there ever been a crazier D.C. United match than the one that took place at RFK Stadium on Saturday night? Possibly -- but if there had been, the memory of it has likely been replaced for the 11,684 who were on hand to witness the home side earn a 3-3 draw with Toronto FC.
United's New Stadium: Go Directly To Jail
Sure, Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) was recently demoted from his beloved perch as chair of the D.C. Council's transportation committee. But he was given the parting gift of control over the District's Office of Planning. And it appears as if one of the first things Wells is focusing his planning efforts on might be a new stadium for D.C. United.
D.C. United Wilts Again At Home, Loses To Revs 1-0
Blame the heat if you must, but D.C. United certainly wilted last night. The club's woes inside RFK Stadium continued, as they dropped a painful 1-0 decision to New England.
One Point From Philly Match Feels Like A Loss For United
Will the additions of Dwayne De Rosario and Brandon McDonald be enough to break D.C. United's lengthy playoff drought? That certainly looked the case on Saturday night -- that is, until the 84th minute.
U.S. Overpower Jamaica 2-0, Advance To Gold Cup Semis
It was a game of two deflections. Fortunate for Jermaine Jones and the United States; not so much for Jermaine Taylor and Jamaica.
After United Draw Colorado, Olsen Demands Better
It was a game that last year's United probably would have lost. But in a sign that the team is growing, if painfully, in Ben Olsen's first full season as head coach, D.C. United battled back to save a home point against defending league champions Colorado in front of 12,499 at RFK Stadium on Saturday night.
United Record Clean Sheet, But Fail to Score Against Dallas
It'd be easy to write off D.C. United's scoreless home draw with FC Dallas on Saturday night as a disappointment -- after all, the team certainly could have used the three points, especially when it seemed the only thing standing in their way was the hands of Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. But the defensive effort provided by the team -- especially on the heels of an April in which they allowed four goals three times and three goals once -- was impressive enough for head coach Ben Olsen and most of the 11,504 on hand at RFK Stadium.
United Tops Sounders on Goals from Davies, Wolff
After a pair of demoralizing losses in league play, including the club's worst home loss in years, D.C. United rebounded with an invigorating 2-1 victory over Seattle last night. Charlie Davies, Josh Wolff and Andy Najar anchored an impressive offensive performance, while Bill Hamid made several key saves to earn the club its first MLS points since mid-April.
Henry, New York Hand United Its Worst Home Loss In Years
He's still got it. Thierry Henry -- who heard his fair share of boos from still-bitter Irish fans among the 18,052 at RFK Stadium -- scored twice and assisted on the third to highlight a dominating performance by the New York Red Bulls as they crushed D.C. United, 4-0. It was the worst home loss for United in 11 years, and the first time that they had lost any game by four goals since a home defeat to Chicago during the 2005 MLS Cup playoffs.
Last-Gasp Davies Penalty Earns United A Tie
"Out with the old, in with the new" was the marketing slogan for D.C. United's clash with the L.A. Galaxy. The vocal crowd of 26,622 at RFK Stadium seemed to have embraced the message as they roundly booed the aging David Beckham at every opportunity, while saving their biggest cheers for United's youthful super-sub Charlie Davies. The quality of the game may have been lacking, but the fans left happy enough thanks to Davies's last-gasp penalty that earned his side a barely-deserved 1-1 tie.
You Take Your Car To Work, I'll Take My Bowl
Care for a little Pinkerton with your chili? Then here's good news for you: Weezer will headline this year's DC101 Chili Cook-Off, which will be held on May 21 outside RFK Stadium.
Click Click: United, Rejuvenated
It was a night for the Stanky Leg. And the Cat Daddy. And a shirtless Josh Wolff running around the pitch, swinging his jersey like a madman before leaping into the stands to celebrate with the fans. And in the first game after the worst season in team history, it was, above all, a night of redemption for D.C. United.
RFK Concessions Now Include "World's Largest Gummy Bear"
Dan Steinberg, during the course of his quest to discover the consumables you'll be able to purchase at soccer games inside RFK Stadium this year, stumbled upon quite the find: this year, you'll be able to buy the "World's largest gummy bear" at RFK. And boy, they aren't kidding about the "world's largest" bit.
D.C. United Acquires Charlie Davies On Loan
D.C. United officially announced this morning that they have acquired United States international forward Charlie Davies on a year-long loan from French club FC Sochaux. It's an interesting move for Davies -- adored by many American soccer fans for his blistering pace and instinct for goal -- as he continues to revamp his career after being severely injured in a fatal car crash on the George Washington Parkway on October 13, 2009.
Military Bowl Preview: Maryland vs. East Carolina
In what will be the most compelling Military Bowl (née EagleBank Bowl) in the game's brief, three-year history, the hometown Maryland Terrapins (8-4, 5-3 ACC) will take on the East Carolina Pirates (6-6, 5-3 C-USA) in RFK Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Get Psyched For The Military Bowl, D.C.
Ah, college football bowl names: the realm of the conglomerate mashup. Whether its the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, or simply something completely bereft of any kind of creativity and character like the Little Caesars Bowl, bowl game naming rights are usually completely unapologetic about being little more than a) a cash grab for corporate sponsors who need a nice perk to give to executives over the holidays or b) a company looking for a public way to get its name attached to a good cause. That said, I suppose D.C.'s annual postseason college football tilt got off relatively light -- the game will be rechristened as the "Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman," according to a report in the Washington Post. Previously, the game -- which will be played at RFK Stadium on December 29 this year -- was known as the EagleBank Bowl. Eh, it could have been worse.
Final Chapter Bittersweet for Moreno as United Fall 3-2
After all the fanfare and the media build-up, it was a night of mixed emotions at RFK Stadium Saturday night: Jaime Moreno scored in his final game for the club he had served for fourteen years, but United lost, 3-2, ending the worst season in club history.
