On August 22, 2010, Neil Michael Godleski was riding his bicycle through Sherman Circle when Eric Foreman, a 17-year-old who had in his possession a .38-caliber handgun that had been used less than 24 hours earlier in another gang-related shooting, shot him several times. Police Searching For Suspects in Tenleytown Garage Robbery
D.C. police are searching for two men who violently attacked and robbed an elderly couple inside a parking garage attached to the Best Buy in Tenleytown. According to Second District Lieutenant Alan E. Hill, the suspects -- both 5' 8" or 5' 9" "skinny" black men who were wearing dark clothing -- approached the couple inside the parking garage attached to the shopping center at 4500 Wisconsin Avenue NW around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, and proceeded to punch and knock both to the ground. After a struggle, the robbers were able to take a piece of property from the man before they fled.

Fourth Guilty Plea Lodged In Brian Betts Case
WTOP reports that Maryland prosecutors have notched another guilty plea in the Brian Betts murder case. Artura Otey Williams, the mother of a teen who pled guilty to robbing Betts with a handgun, pled guilty on Tuesday to using credit cards which were stolen from Betts after his death. Williams used a card that belonged to Betts to make various purchases at Giant, Shoppers Food Warehouse and Foot Locker -- she plead guilty to two charges of theft, each carrying a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison. Williams' admission of guilt is the fourth in connection with the Betts case -- the trial of Deontra Gray, the lone holdout, is scheduled to start after the New Year. Betts, the 42-year-old former principal of Shaw Middle School, was found dead in his Silver Spring home in April.
Woman Robbed As She Pumped Gas In Takoma Park
A surreal crime story from just across the District line this morning: a woman was pumping gas at a station on the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 7:20 a.m., when a car pulled up next to her. A person then exited the rear of the vehicle, walked up to the front of the woman's car, unlocked the door and grabbed a bunch of her property before hopping back into the vehicle and speeding back into the District via New Hampshire Avenue. Takoma Park Police are searching for a black Honda Accord, but don't have tags or any description of the suspects involved in the crime.
Armored Car Robbed This Afternoon In Georgetown
ABC 7 News reports that four men, believed to be operating a black Dodge Magnum with tinted windows and "shiny" wheels, robbed an armored car this afternoon across the street from the BB&T Bank at 1365 Wisconsin Ave NW in Georgetown. The men reportedly escaped with money from the truck at some point around 2:20 p.m., and are considered armed and dangerous. If you see the car, do not approach it -- instead, you should contact MPD at 1-888-919-CRIME.
US Park Police Warn of Robberies Near Fort Totten Metro Station
According to US Park Police, the Fort Totten park trail has become the site of several robberies over the past few months, the latest occurring Friday night. Park Police say at least six robberies have occurred during evening hours as commuters cut through the park on their way home. Normally the park is closed after dark. Although violence has been threatened, none of the victims have been hurt, reports WUSA9. Reiterating Metro's sage advice, commuters are recommended to stick to the main routes and stay in well lit areas.
Armored Truck Robbed in Columbia Heights
Two men dressed as construction workers pulled off a daring daytime robbery of an armored truck near the Columbia Heights Metro station at around 10:15 a.m. this morning, reports ABC7. With all the construction taking shape on 14th Street NW in Columbia Heights -- it's gone from gentrification to constructification -- it must have been no problem for two black men, aged 35 to 40, to blend into the crowd. Investigators believe there may be a connection to a robbery of a check-cashing shop in Southeast two weeks ago, which was also carried out by men posing as construction workers. Contact police if you think you've seen the getaway vehicle, a blue-and-green minivan parked in an alley between 13th and 14th Streets NW.
