Is this why I see so many man-boobs around the D.C. region? In the latest ruminations on dating in the city, D.C.'s male population has ranked 10th among best cities to find a romantic suitor. But according to Chemistry.com's resident mad scientist, "most romantic" could correlate to "highest estrogen" in our bloodstreams. Great, I guess that means we should stop popping our mothers' hot flash medication. Fortunately, the ranking, which comes from the dating websit data pool of American singles, placed San Francisco, Portland, New York and Austin among our romantic superiors. more ›

NoVa is a Hotbed for the Sad and Lonely

Via USA Today's Pop Candy blog, Amazon.com has put out a list of what they're calling the country's "Most Romantic Cities" (just in time for Valentine's Day promotional product tie-ins!) -- except by "most romantic" they actually appear to mean "most in need of more romance". The list corresponds to the web site's top locations for sales of romance novels, relationship and sex books. Two Northern Virginia cities in the metro area made the top ten, with Alexandria coming out tops in the nation for potentially embarrassing reading habits. more ›
