FILM: Take in the last screening of The Lusty Men at the AFI Silver Theater tonight. The movie features Robert Mitchum as one of Nicholas Ray's trademark outsiders, a broken-down rodeo rider who turns to coaching when an injury keeps him from riding; he becomes the uncomfortable third wheel in the relationship between a young protege and a disapproving wife. Be warned, there will be French and German subtitles. 7 p.m.

MUSIC: Swedish indie pop crooner Jens Lekman show tonight on the Black Cat's main stage sold out about a week ago, but if you can wrangle up a ticket it'll be well worth your time. His smooth and timbral voice is the perfect vehicle for his songs that are equal parts bitter and sweet. Craigslist seems to have more seekers than sellers, but you never know. Hang out in the red room and maybe you'll get lucky. Or, stay home and listen to it on NPR. 8 p.m.

FILM: The AFI is screening Ingmar Bergman's only horror film, should take note: The plot takes place on a remote island, where one Max von Sydow reveals to his pregnant wife nightmarish stories about past (and possibly imagined) interactions with the baron and his family who live, naturally, on the other side of the island. Get scurred in Silver Spring. 7 p.m.
