Sticky Rice Reopens, Will Not Serve Alcohol Until ABRA Hearing
Last Thursday, we reported that popular H Street NE restaurant Sticky Rice had been temporarily closed by the Metropolitan Police Department after a "non-fatal stabbing incident" occurred on their property on December 29. We've now received word that the restaurant has reopened -- but will not be serving alcohol until an upcoming hearing with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration.
Sticky Rice Temporarily Closed After 'Non-Fatal Stabbing Incident'
Sticky Rice, the popular Asian/sushi restaurant located at 1224 H Street NE, closed early last night after an assault occurred on the premises early Wednesday morning. Police responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon around 1:35 a.m. on December 29 -- turns out that the restaurant was the scene of what is being called a "non-fatal stabbing incident." Due to the altercation, the restaurant has been shut down for up to 96 hours by the Metropolitan Police Department.
