Good morning, Washington. Happy October, and happy new fiscal year. A noticeable drop in temperature this weekend reminds us it’s not too long before we’ll witness a noticeable shift in hues. Watch: Video of College Park Police Beating

In the event you haven't yet watched the video that was released by an attorney for one of the University of Maryland students who claims he was beaten by Prince George's County police officers last month, take a minute to do so now. You'll recall that 27 people were arrested on March 3 in the wake of post-game celebrations in College Park -- celebrations that by all accounts got out of hand. But this video is really quite damning, and has in fact already led to the suspension of at least one and a criminal investigation against a total of three sworn officers. more ›

The two teams have tangled before in the tourney, most recently in 2004 when current Glasgow Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu slotted home the winning penalty kick in a dramatic shootout win for Maryland. On Saturday, they meet up again for a trip to the Final Four. College Park's Ludwig Field — one of the nation's best college soccer atmospheres — should be rockin'. Kickoff at 1 p.m., Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth/seniors/students and they're available in advance on the UM athletics website. more ›

2008_0213_Sweet.jpgWalking around D.C. you sometimes catch posters for shows at the Black Cat or 9:30 Club hung up in random places. Unfortunately, the street isn't the most forgiving gallery, but silk-screened gig posters do bring art to the masses.
