D.C. Central Kitchen Vans Vandalized
The D.C. Central Kitchen had several of its vans vandalized last night, and, understandably, many people were flabbergasted. The Mysterious Case of the Smashed Bus Shelter
If you've been on the north side of Adams Morgan at any point during the last two days, you probably noticed the severely damaged bus shelter at the intersection of Calvert Street and Adams Mill Road NW. The damage occurred on Tuesday night, which is when DCist received the above images. While following the lead on Wednesday morning, I exchanged emails with a man who lives near the bus shelter -- he claimed that he jumped into action to apprehend the vandal, who the source described as an inebriated teenager that had struck the glass backing with a hammer.

No 'Rapture' Allowed on Metro?
National security and nuclear arms control blogger Jeffrey Lewis of ArmsControlWonk was on the Red line this morning when he noticed a rather odd new sign prohibiting certain behavior on Metro. Next to the usual diagrams picturing how you must not block, crowd around or lean on Metro doors, someone had affixed another warning: No "Rapture," with a little businessman about float up to Heaven, and the universal symbol for "don't do it," the red circle with a line through it.
