Living Wage Rally at Georgetown University
The Georgetown Living Wage Coalition held another rally yesterday, calling on Georgetown University to immediately implement a campus living wage policy. The rally drew over 50 people, notably several off-duty workers from P&R Enterprises (a subcontractor for custodial services on-campus) and Vice President for Student Affairs Todd Olson. Georgetown’s GoCard Grumbles
Over the past few months, criminal activity at and around Georgetown University has been on the rise after a three-year decline. A shooting in a Village B apartment last Thursday was the latest in a string of crimes that have shaken the sense of security on campus. Hoya Mural: Monument or Monstrosity?
It’s hard to miss the giant “Hoya Saxa” mural while driving past Georgetown University on Canal Road NW. The mural has been an institution since it appeared on the wall sometime in the early 1990s, yet some, such as Barbara Zartman, vice president of the Citizens Association of Georgetown, say the mural is “grafitti” and should be removed.
