According to a recent survey, D.C. is the second most-easy city to get lost in. Boston is No. 1. After D.C., San Francisco, Baltimore and then New York are ranked as navigationally challenging based off of street design, overall city layout, congested traffic and travel time.

DCist thinks that D.C. is easy to get around in, if you know the basic idea of how the city is constructed … a lettered and numbered grid with state avenues crossing on diagonal paths meeting at squares or traffic circles. Granted, there are many other factors that come into play, including bad, confusing or little signage to guide newcomers from point A to point B. Then throw in rush-hour lane restrictions, varying no left turn regulations and reversible one-way streets. Yeah, D.C. is confusing. (Map source)
