DCist normally doesn’t write about the state of Delaware, a sales-tax haven among other things. But this weekend’s grand opening of an Apple retail store in Newark caught our eye. Apple is very particular as to where it places its retail stores, so the Delaware location is interesting.
An Apple store in a sales-tax free state smack dab in the middle between D.C., New York and Philadelphia seems to be a smart move for Apple, as the store has the potential to become a destination point off Interstate 95.
If you find yourself in the Blue Hen State near the Christiana Mall in Newark on Saturday, be sure to swing by, as Apple will be giving out free iPods, errr …, free t-shirts.
