The Vote for Change rockers have gone, but there’s still plenty of celebrity eye candy in town this weekend. Look for Billy Corgan (ex-Smashing Pumpkins) as he stops by the 9:30 Club on Sunday to read from his new work “Blinking with Fists.”
If maudlin rocker poetry isn’t your thing, you can see the prettier Hollywood set at Saturday night’s Italian American Foundation Gala at the Hilton Towers. Expected to show are Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Luciano Pavarotti. OK, Pavarotti we get is Italian, but what are McGraw and Hill doing there?
Further ahead, Robert Redford will be speaking at the Kennedy Center on Monday at 8 p.m. The actor will share “his passion about making films of substance and social/cultural relevance, as well as encouraging others to creatively express themselves through the arts.”
Rock stars, Italian icons and aging Hollywood actors are all around. Keep your peepers open DCer’s and tell us who come across!
