Everyone at DCist would like to extend a warm welcome to our friends across the Atlantic. The team at Gothamist has been working to get Londonist off the ground and we’re happy to report that our newest sibling -ist site is in its public beta testing period.

DCist’s most favorite London memory is back from the winter of 2000 when we were attacked by a toothless woman armed with lipstick while we were getting our Tube pass photo taken at the Mile End Road station. We sometimes wish we had more toothless women armed with lipstick running around our capital. But we’re content with the screaming woman at Union Station who likes to target Senate staffers walking to Capitol Hill.
