>> This Friday, Artomatic – a conglomerate of visual art, live music, poetry readings, films and more – opens at 800 Third St. NE. The opening reception kicks off at noon this Friday and lasts until 1 a.m. It’s up through Dec. 5.
>> Also new this week is “Cuban Artists: Three Generations” at the Fraser Gallery in Bethesda. Stop by on Friday from 6-9 p.m. to sip mojitos (or sangria) while viewing new work by Sandra Ramos and Jacqueline Zerquera Tejedor, as well as art from the estate of Carlos Alfonso – one of Cuba’s most important artists.
>> Delila Katzka Fine Art, a new Capitol Hill art space at 715 G St. SE, opens Wednesday with an exhibit of contemporary art by two German-born artists living in D.C. The opening reception for “Changes,” featuring abstract paintings by Monika Paris (whose “Orchestra” is at right) and glass art by Elke Martin, is Saturday from 6-8 p.m.
>> Visit the National Arboretum to see the changing leaves this weekend and you can also view Curt Belshe’s photographs of the site in all four seasons. The opening reception for “Arborscapes: Panoramic Digital Landscapes of the National Arboretum” is this Saturday, 2-4 p.m. Free, but call (202) 544-8733 for reservations.
>> This is the last week to see “New Photographs” at American University’s School of Communications. Featured works include large format prints made by AU faculty using state-of-the-art digital technology. The exhibit is on view at the Red Brook Gallery, 3336 M St. NW.
