With showers possible this weekend and a busy season of holiday festivities to rest up for, this weekend might be perfect to take in a movie.

Those looking for an escapist visual indulgence might look to check out “Postmen in the Mountains.” Set in ruggedly beautiful Hunan province, this Chinese film tells the story of a ill and retiring postal carrier who must show his son his mountainous three-day route.

The film has won a number of awards including “Best Film” at the Montreal World Film Festival, and has received positive reviews, generally for its cinematography. The film received a “fresh” rating on Rottentomatoes.com, and a positive mention by Michael O’Sullivan in today’s Post. The film is showing for a one-week engagement at the E Street Cinema starting tonight. See showtimes on Yahoo movies.

And yes, the long awaited National Treasure” also opens tonight.
