Ah, health care. How we’ve missed debating this issue over and over again until all the acronyms and buzz words loose their meaning. This week, Josh and Congressman Santos go toe to toe over the Patients Bill of Rights and a suicide bomber kills a solider with the U.S. peace keeping mission in the Middle East. Are the two story lines related? No. Not at all. Do they have anything at all in common? No again. Does that make for a very disjointed episode with no pay off at the end? Yes, yes it does.

Congressman Santos, a Democrat, pulls one over on the Bartlet administration by attaching his name to a Republican health care reform bill. Josh is POed at the fact, and a few fairly unremarkable shouting matches take place between the two. The Congressman finally explains to a struck dumb Josh that by supporting the Republican bill, he was able to get all provisions he wanted in it, and is able to ensure bi-partisan support, which means the bill will actually pass. Congressman Santos 1, Josh Lyman 0. Josh walks away humbled and (we think) with a bit of a crush on the Congressman.
