Our friends at Gothamist scooped us on a story in our own backyard! We seemed to miss the official debut of the Bush family’s new dog, a Sottish terrier named Miss Beazley. It looks like Barney (at right) is getting a little sidekick. If you watch the White House video (which can be seen on Barney’s homepage), you can see that Miss Beazley will be trouble as she ran off into the bushes before the press unveiling outside the doors to the Diplomatic Reception Room, where the AFP notes that Heidi, President Dwight Eisenhower’s Weimeraner “soiled the rug.” Heidi got banished. So Miss Beazley, beware! It’s a rough world out there. There are mean dogs on the loose up in other quadrants of the city.
