Local musicians looking to make a mark in the area, take note: The second annual Six Points Music Festival, scheduled to take place from April 7 through April 11, is accepting submissions to be considered for inclusion in the festival.
Musician Mike Holden of ArlingtonMusicScene.com, an online music community, tells us that the festival will showcase performers at different venues throughout Arlington (and possibly D.C.). Last year’s festival featured more than thirty bands at Arlingtonian institutions such as Iota, Galaxy Hut and Whitlow’s.
If you’re interested in submitting some material, prepare a CDR with three original songs, make a check out to WAMA (who’s cosponsoring the event) for $10, and fill out this form (PDF).
So check it out. The festival, which gets its name from “the Six Points of Arlington,” representing the county’s six focal points: Ballston, Clarendon, Columbia Pike, Crystal City, Rosslyn, and Shirlington, should be a great way to keep an eye on the ever-growing local music scene.
