Truth be told, we’re still coming down off our high from Sunday’s Arcade Fire show. And if you are, too, make sure to set your Tivo tonight – they’ll be playing on the Conan O’Brien show.
In other news, February’s actually got a rather great line up of shows to see. As always, we don’t know jack about anything beyond annoying shoegazing indie pop rock, so make sure to check out the Post’s recommendations for classical and jazz performances, along with Ionarts picks for the month. And also as always, make sure to leave your picks or anything we’ve missed in the comments.
2/4, Friday: Fronted by identical twins Emily and Susan Hsu, local indie pop rockers Exit Clov take dark melodies, airy vocals, and blend them together into some pretty catchy songs. They’re having a CD release party at the Black Cat. $8, 9:30 p.m.
2/5, Saturday: With their follow up to the delicately excellent “Quiet is the New Loud,” Norway’s folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience (pictured at right) are touring to support their new release, “Riot on an Empty Street.” Think quirky, melancholy folk. At Iota, $16, 9:30 p.m., 21+ (though there’s a free soundcheck party between 5:30 – 6:30 for under-21 fans. Isn’t that nice?) We’d get there early for this one, seeing as Iota’s concert space is the size of a shoebox and the KoC, in a rare U.S. appearance, could draw a fairly large crowd.
