Our January post on D.C. street stencil phenom “Borf” has continued to generate comments weeks after its post. Recently, a poster pointed out Borf was discussed in this article in the Raleigh News and Observer, which describes the faces which have recently popped up on the campus of N.C. State University in Raleigh as “like actor Jerry O’Connell of the TV show “Sliders,” only younger, goateed and not quite as good-looking. This is the guy at the party who wants to tell you all about his atheism.” A Raleigh graffiti artist even evaluates his work and gives him “good marks for technique (no overspray that shows the outer edges of the stencil and no drip) but hopes the campaign will evolve.”

Another commenter observes that one of his stencils “is an absolute replica of my boyfriend,” a boyfriend who later contacted us to ask if he knew how to contact the elusive Borf. Alas, we haven’t met him yet, but hanging around Adams Morgan seems the best option. The stencil and his photo are above – do you think the man has a point? Although his stencil gallery at stencilrevolution.com hasn’t been updated since early January, we hope when he’s back from his sojourn to North Carolina he’ll have photos of his work to share.
