If you’re lucky enough to have the day off today, make the most of it by cashing in on distant relations or poking fun at our illustrious leaders.

For all you male readers (sorry, ladies!), the Grooming Lounge, the upscale barbershop on L Street NW is offering local men who share a last name with our current president or any of the 42 previous leaders a discount on products purchased in the store or online. Customers receive a percentage discount based on the ranking number of the president whose name they share. You can read more about the lounge or order products here. If you need a refresher in American political history, click here for a list of past presidents paired with ranking numbers.

If biting satire is more your style, head over to Ford’s Theatre for a free reading of Larry L. King’s (pictured at left) “The Dead President’s Club” at 7 p.m. King’s satire takes place just after the death of Richard Nixon in 1994. Nixon arrives at a holding station between heaven and hell where Lyndon Johnson, Harry Truman and Calvin Coolidge are awaiting the final decision regarding their final destination. Nixon takes charge of the situation and concocts a plan to get their case before the Almighty ahead of schedule. The four former presidents finally get to meet their maker in an encounter during which each must justify himself and his administration.
