>> “Mexican Report: Contemporary Mexican Art” — the key show opening this week — will be exhibited concurrently at three art venues in the D.C. area. It opens at the Cultural Institute of Mexico this Thursday with at reception at the Institute starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by a tour of the Meridian International Center (a five-minute walk, but transportation will be provided as well). “Mexican Report” consists of an extraordinary gathering of the most important contemporary Mexican and foreign artists presently living in Mexico. More than 50 artists will exhibit 103 paintings, photographs, videos, installations, prints and sculptures (one work from the exhibit is shown above). The exhibit will be open both at the Cultural Institute of Mexico and the Meridian International Center until April 22. Curator’s Office will showcase select videos from the exhibition between Feb. 26 and March 26.
